Welcome to the Anassi Cultural Center
Established in 2018, the Anassi Cultural Center is a culture and education focused organization located in the Anassi neighborhood of Meknes. Our center offers a wide variety of services welcoming adults, adolescents, and children. This includes classes in reading, language, theater, communication, dance/yoga, computer science, video editing, film, and more.
Our primary goal is to bring people together within our community and from communities around the world. We strive to help others experience cultural enrichment and to find a place of learning. In addition to classes, we also offer numerous workshops, events, and exhibitions throughout the year, many times organized with the support of our partners.
Our Rooms
Our main room is the heart of the center. This space is used throughout the week for studying, meetings, and as a common area. Additionally, our larger events and exhibitions are hosted here.
Home to a variety of seating options and a projector system, the cinema room is used to share films and shows. Not only that, but its comfortable atmosphere makes it a perfect space to chat with others and relax. Contact us for details about movie events.
The gallery is one of the center’s focal points. It is used as a multi-purpose space throughout the year for housing the work of local artists. In addition, it provides a community space during large cultural exhibitions,
Our center houses two separate libraries, one for children and one for adults. Books of all topics in a variety of languages can be found in both libraries, and the Dewey Decimal System is used to organize our catalog. Additionally, the adult library is used throughout the week as a space for larger classes.
Like the adult’s library, the children’s library houses books in multiple languages and reading levels. The space is also used as a classroom thanks to its child-sized furniture. Your child will feel right at home in this space.
The center’s dance room is used for a variety of classes. Local community members teach both exercise and dance classes. For those looking for a workout, we offer yoga and stretching. If you are looking to learn or practice dancing, we also offer Moroccan dance classes.
The theater room is another multi-purpose room that is used for theater classes, language classes, and presentations. This room can also host larger groups of people and has a projector for community use.
The music room is a dedicated space for the creation of music. This room includes a digital piano and a variety of traditional Moroccan and classical instruments. Multiple musicians have the space to comfortably practice and rehearse.
With over a dozen computer set-ups, the computer lab allows for programming, video editing, and computer skill development classes to be taken by both children and adults.
Our multiple meeting rooms host small groups and classes to meet throughout the week.
